Clove & Cardamom could open as soon as Friday, January 29; pending final inspection and permitting. Follow them on Facebook to keep up with opening details.
Located at the corner of Merriweather Drive and Mango Tree Road, C&C will be the very first restaurant to open in the Merriweather District. I recently check-in with owner and restauranteur Satish Gunisetty who is busy completing the interior build-out, and he is super excited to bring his global-cuisine concept to Downtown Columbia. C&C is planning to offer limited-capacity indoor seating, take-out, curbside, and third-party delivery.
Here's the concept description directly from Satish:
"Clove & Cardamom, a premium casual restaurant and bar, is opening soon in the Merriweather District in Downtown Columbia. A new concept with a modern décor and ambience is designed to offer warmth and friendliness in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere to relish our finest cuisine, hand-crafted cocktails, and extensive wine list. Clove & Cardamom will offer spiced up global cuisine with creative and exciting combinations of unique flavors, local and seasonal fresh ingredients, and freshly crafted sauces blended with spices from India and other countries. Our elaborative Lunch and Dinner menus offer healthy choices including non-vegetarian, vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options seven days a week. We hope to see you soon."
And here's pictures of their menu, which is now posted on their door. Looks delicious.
Peering through the window. Looking good in there!
More details are in my original preview piece that I wrote in March shortly after the restaurant was announced. YUM! Cannot wait!
I drove by on Saturday and there was a singer/guitarist performing. Do you know who it was and is C&C going to make live performances a regular feature?
Matt C- Busboys & Poets is going to transform the area as soon as it opens with tons of people all time. Can't wait either. The Baltimore Sun recently reported they are aiming for a summer opening.. Food Market looks like it is still a go - signage is up and interior is built out, but no word on opening. It's not in The Merriweather District though - it's on the Mall side of Little Patuxent. Check out some photos I took recently. https://www.facebook.com/themerriweatherpost/posts/242484673915366
That's exciting! Heard anymore about busboys and poets? That's who I'm waiting on! Also did the food market cancel? They aren't on the merriweather district website. If so that's a shame because I was excited about them, loved the one in Baltimore.
